Drew Gasparini is an award-winning composer/lyricist and singer/songwriter best known for his work in theatre and television. He has written the scores for several musicals including the Broadway-bound adaptation of The Karate Kid, the adaptations of the novels It's Kind of a Funny Story and The Whipping Boy (both with writing partner, two time Tony-Nominee Alex Brightman), Night Shift (commissioned by Warner Bros.),We Aren’t Kids Anymore (currently in development in the UK), and many more.
Recently Drew and Alex Brightman, this time along with American TV icon Marc Summers, to contribute original music to the messy one-man show, The Life and Slimes of Marc Summers, which had a sold out Off-Broadway production in 2024.
The popularity of Drew’s musical theatre album I Could Use a Drink has led to sold out concerts of the piece around the globe, including The Garrick Theatre on London’s West End. Songs from the album have racked up millions of streams and several performance videos of the songs have gone viral on Youtube and TikTok thanks to stars like Renee Rapp and Jeremy Jordan who continue to sing his work.
Drew was a contributing songwriter for the fan-favorite TV show SMASH alongside Pasek & Paul, Joe Iconis, and Shaiman & Wittman. And his music has been heard in several ad campaigns including the long-running “Somewhere, Anywhere” ad for Booking.com starring Oscar Nominee Melissa McCarthy. Drew is also one of the creatives responsible for the ad campaign turned viral publicity stunt Skittles Commercial: The Broadway Musical starring Dexter’s Michael C. Hall.
